We are not stranger to road trips, with or without the Triplets. They were born in Texas and we made more than a few twelve hour treks to Alabama to see the in-laws. Several of those we drove through the night so our little trio would sleep. We even did late night/early morning drives while we were "child free" leaving after work in NC to arrive at the in-laws around two in the morning or so. Once when the in-laws visited us in Seattle we drove 1800 miles during their week long visit as we checked out all the sights.
The last ten days will also go down in our history as one of the crazy driving adventures of our lives. It all started on August 27th with a trip to see Uncle D, Aunt J and Cousin C near Nashville, TN for a 400 mile round trip. Then we headed up to the in-laws to drop the Triplets off for a weekend with Mimi and Grandaddy for a mere 200 mile round trip. Thursday we headed to NC for a quick (VERY quick) trip to see my Dad. We have lots of very good friends in NC but had no time to visit as this was a purpose driven trip. My Dad is de-cluttering his place and the CFO did not trust me to choose what we wanted:) We headed back to Alabama on Sunday to complete our 1100 mile round trip. Of course we still needed to head back to the in-laws to retrieve our trio for another measly 200 mile round trip. I know this is not much for you road warriors out there but after 1900 miles with 800 of them being with four year old Triplets, I am a bit fatigued.
The Triplets had a GREAT time!
